Harbor of the Future

At the heart of every modern city is a skyline waiting to be photographed. In Yokohama, we have Minato Mirai 21 (translated as “harbor of the future”). This is the central business district of Yokohama with plenty of high rise offices, shopping malls and tourist attractions in the area.

This is a long exposure shot (20 seconds) taken during the fabled blue hour – such a fleeting moment when the quality of light is at it’s best. I feel that I owe it to myself to photograph something outdoors daily at this time. Unfortunately, by the time I do get out of the office, the sky is usually in complete darkness.

Ahh, such is life working in Japan.
