Revisiting The Beautiful Game

With the Euro 2012 football tournament ongoing, I thought it’d be apt to share some football shots of my own. Over the past few months, I’ve had the honour as official photographer of my company’s in-house football tournament.

The last time I shot a sports event was a handball game in 2010 (!). Considering that, this was a great refresher course for me and I enjoyed every minute of it.

For starters, here’s one of my personal favourites from the first game I covered. I like the juxtaposition of emotions on the two players as they discuss tactics. The slightly smiling player is quietly confident about the game while the other is not so sure.

Will share more shots in the days to come. In the meantime, enjoy the beautiful game! If you’re in a football fan in an Asian time zone like myself, let’s hope to God we all survive this sleepless month of football. Amen.

  1. HB: I actually think watching sports is an acquired taste. My mom for example has completely no interest in football, the Olympics or any sports events for that matter. She constantly asks me what’s so entertaining about a bunch of men chasing a single ball? Haha
