Hovering About

The hoverfly, another insect I constantly encounter in the field but never really had the chance to shoot until my last outing when one decided to stay still and take a break on a blade of grass. As the name suggests, they’re always constantly hovering about, making it rather difficult to photograph them. What I find most interesting is their ability to hover front, back, left, right in the air like a helicopter! Truly amazing.
